We are looking for a skilled, resourceful, and collaborative Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Bedford, NH. The Lead Mechanical Engineer will work closely with a team of engineers supporting natural gas, renewable natural gas, and hydrogen projects. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position, with opportunities to be challenged, contribute to project outcomes, interact routinely with project Principals, and grow professionally.

Essential Functions – What You Will Do
- Oversee and support development and review of mechanical and process design aspects of projects in the Natural Gas Sector; focusing on metering, regulation, liquefied natural gas, renewable natural gas and compressed natural gas facilities.
- Provide compliance oversight for adherence to, and application of, industry specific codes (e.g., 49 CFR 192/193, NFPA 59A, ASME B31.3, others).
- Oversee and provide technical review of the development of process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Oversee and provide technical review of line sizing, wall thickness, and flexibility/pipe stress calculations.
- Oversee and provide technical review of process equipment (e.g., heat exchangers, boilers, pumps) sizing.
- Oversee and provide technical review of valve and mechanical component sizing, including relief valves.
- Oversee and provide technical review of written specifications for equipment and materials.
- Oversee and provide technical review of system evaluations/design using process simulation software.
- Oversee and support development of written reports documenting analyses, designs, and assessments.
- Oversee and support the development of development of plant documentation, such as operating & maintenance procedures, purging procedures, as-built drawings, training documents, and risk management plans.
- Provide technical support as owner’s engineer to clients in development, design, construction, and commissioning of projects.
- Directly interface with clients as the technical lead on projects.
- Support overall project management as it relates to schedule, client relationship building, and technical execution.
- Perform site visits to utility and industrial client facilities to meet with clients and support the development and review of technical design packages.
- Mentor junior staff to develop their technical skills and instill good consulting practices to support their growth in the firm.

Competencies – What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of six (6) to ten (10) years relevant experience and a BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Energy Focus).
- Possess Professional Engineering Registration/Licensure.
- Experience with natural gas and liquefied natural gas.
- Understanding of asset integrity management programs.
- Experience with risk management and process safety.
- Strong technical understanding of Process Design.
- Strong organizational and time management skills combined with the flexibility to work with shifting priorities.
- Client-service orientation with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver to meet expectations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Work well as a team member, with a collaborative communication style.
